We are looking for a Workshop Supervisor for a full-time, permanent role in Shepshed
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assist in maintaining efficient workshop scheduling and prioritise repairs according to customer demands and business needs.
- Help managers identify cost-effective repair methods to minimise trailer downtime.
- Ensure all inspections, servicing, and repairs—whether in the workshop, on the roadside, or at a customer’s location—are completed to a high standard, adhering to company guidelines and current Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) regulations.
- Oversee and manage workshop systems and processes as required
- Encourage safe and efficient workshop practices, maintaining a clean, hazard-free environment and ensuring full compliance with safety standards
- Assist managers in maintaining appropriate staffing levels by managing holiday requests and workshop loading
- Collaborate with managers to manage overtime efficiently, ensuring alignment with maintenance needs
- Maintain optimal stock levels, ensuring parts and products are available in a timely manner
- Process all documentation accurately and promptly
- Identify opportunities to leverage manufacturer warranties and goodwill programs.
- Support managers in analysing maintenance trends and providing insights for improvement.
- Strive to meet or exceed all agreed-upon goals and objectives.
- Ensure all company vehicles are operated safely and in compliance with traffic laws and company policies and enforce adherence to the Mobile Van Policy.
- Deliver high-quality customer service, consistently demonstrating company values.
- Highlight potential commercial opportunities to managers.
- Assist managers in ensuring all staff consistently use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adhere to health and safety protocols. Report any concerns to the Branch Manager.
- Participate in all required company training.

- Must be a qualified technician with “Time Served” experience or hold City & Guilds Level 1, 2, & 3 Certificates (or equivalent qualifications) with a strong background in trailer repairs
- Customer & Team Focus: Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and a commitment to both customer satisfaction and team success
- Supervisory Experience: Previous experience supervising a team is an advantage
- Possess a high level of enthusiasm, self-motivation, and effective communication skills
- Exhibit strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the capability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities without constant supervision
- Comfortable with providing feedback and challenging processes when necessary
- Computer literacy is essential
- Proven administrative capabilities are advantageous
